Richard Schmidt has led a full, extraordinary life. His various pursuits and achievements include accountant, professor of accounting, developer, pilot, sailor and author. He is also the immediate past Chair of the Hospital Board of Trustees.
Barbara has served in leadership roles for numerous Boca Raton Regional Hospital committees. In addition, her “Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life” initiative offers workshops on wellness and inner peace at Boca Regional and other locations.
Both Richard and Barbara have been powerful advocates for the Hospital through their Schmidt Family Foundation, gifting the Schmidt Family Center for Breast Cancer and the Schmidt Family Pavilion at the Marcus Neuroscience Institute, among others. Now they have made an extraordinary gift to the Keeping the Promise Capital Campaign to fund a much needed parking garage.
