Louis and Anne Green Donate $10 Million in Support of Boca Raton Regional Hospital's Keeping The Promise Campaign

Boca Raton Regional Hospital (BRRH) has received a transformational $10 million gift from Louis B. and Anne W. Green for Keeping the Promise…The Campaign for Boca Raton Regional Hospital. The Green’s gift is one of six eight-figure gifts received by the campaign that has already raised $118 million toward its goal. In recognition for their generosity, the newly redesigned hospital lobby will be named the Louis B. and Anne W. Green Lobby.

“I am honored to have served on Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s Corporate and Foundation Boards of Trustees for many years and privileged to be part of a leadership team that has helped guide us to become one of the area’s premier medical centers,” explained Louis B Green. We are steadfastly committed to the promise made more than 50 years ago by Gloria Drummond, and know, though we have come so far, there is so much yet to accomplish. We are determined to be part of that future!”

The Greens have supported many of Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s patient care initiatives such as women’s health and cardiac care, and community projects such as the Louis and Anne Green Memory & Wellness Center at Florida Atlantic University. Their investment, through the years, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital has been inspirational, as they have maintained a significant presence serving as chairs for the Annual Ball on multiple occasions and as Honorary Chairs of the most recent Ball in January of this year. Anne has been one of the Honorary Chairs for the Go Pink luncheon for many years and Louis has served on the Board of Trustees for both Boca Raton Regional Hospital and the Hospital Foundation. Their tireless commitment to Boca Raton has been noticed elsewhere as well. They were honored by the Historical Society’s Walk of Recognition in 2015, and were awarded the Rotary Club’s highest recognition, the OPAL Award for philanthropy.

“The Greens are inextricably linked to the hospital, part of our family in every way,” said Jerry Fedele, President and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. “Their spirit and commitment have been palpable well beyond this campaign. We thank the Greens, true leaders in our community, and true champions in bringing our vision to fruition.”

The $250 million campaign was officially launched at a January 15, 2019, press conference held at Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health and Wellness Institute on the campus of the hospital. The campaign is supporting the most ambitious period of growth and expansion in Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s history, valued at more than half a billion dollars.

In addition, Keeping the Promise is the largest campaign since the hospital opened its doors more than 51 years ago. The multi-level project features several key components. The new 180,000 sq. ft. seven-story patient tower is the centerpiece. The tower will feature an expansion of the surgical suites, an inviting patient lobby, and three floors set aside for future growth. The Marcus Neuroscience Institute will make targeted staff and capital investments over the next five years in all neuroscience programs with an emphasis on neurovascular/stroke, Central Nervous System (CNS) tumor, spine, and epilepsy/seizure disorders. In the current hospital building, all 400 rooms will be converted to private in a comprehensive renovation, and a 20-bed Observation Unit will be added. A 972-car parking garage will also be constructed. These investments are the initial steps toward an even broader vision for the campus over the next decade with greater access points and even more specialties.
