Marc J Leder Foundation Makes Two Million Dollar Gift To Boca Raton’s Keeping The Promise Capital Campaign
Philanthropist Marc Leder has made a two-million-dollar gift on behalf of the Marc J. Leder Foundation to Boca Raton Regional Hospital helping to push the near-concluded Keeping the Promise capital campaign over its goal. The gift will be recognized with a naming opportunity within the Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion.
“It is a measure of the credibility and power of our vision and plan for the future when one of our family of donors returns to make a subsequent substantive gift,” said Lincoln Mendez, North Region Executive, Baptist Health and CEO, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, referring to a prior $1 million gift Mr. Leder and his partner Rodger Krouse pledged to the campaign from The Sun Capital Partners Foundation. “Marc’s belief in our campus initiative is matched only by our gratitude for this overwhelming demonstration of generosity. He is playing a significant role in helping us launch a future of unprecedented sophistication in medical care here in South Florida.”
Marc Leder has long been a personal supporter of Boca Raton Regional Hospital and has also undertaken a mission to support outstanding local businesses to promote sustainable and positive change. The Sun Capital Partners Foundation has donated more than $17 million to more than 700 local, national, and international organizations.
"Boca Raton Regional Hospital has dedicated itself to delivering exceptional healthcare to our community for over 50 years, and I am truly privileged to contribute to their noble mission," expressed Marc Leder. "Having resided locally and operated a global business from within this community for almost three decades, I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering dedication of this esteemed institution. Their tireless efforts to protect the health and well-being of our community's residents every single day is truly remarkable, and it is an honor to stand by their side."
The Keeping the Promise Campaign is the largest fund-raising initiative in Boca Regional’s history and is supporting more than $1 billion in capital investments. The campus redevelopment plans include the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower and a Critical Care Tower where patients will be welcomed in the inviting new Louis B. and Anne W. Green Lobby with plans for retail, dining, meeting space, a sanctuary, outdoor courtyards and other conveniences for visitors. The project features all private patient rooms exceeding the latest safety standards for patient care. In the current hospital building, all existing rooms will be converted to private in a comprehensive renovation of all patient units including maternity, oncology, and orthopedics. An expansion of the Marcus Neuroscience Institute is now completed with an emphasis on stroke, central nervous system tumors, spine, and epilepsy. The 972-car Schmidt Family Parking Facility is open and will be connected to the Marcus Neuroscience Institute. And the new Toby and Leon Cooperman Medical Arts Pavilion, opening this fall, is home to our Orthopedic Institute with an outpatient surgery center, physician specialty offices and is adjacent to the Eleanor Baldwin Parking Facility.
“There are not enough accolades for donors such as Marc Leder,” said Stan Barry, Foundation Chairman and co-chair of Keeping the Promise campaign. “He continues to support our mission and vision, keeping his eyes on our progress, and celebrating our accomplishments along the way. He is, indeed, part of our Boca Raton Regional Hospital family.”
